Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minority Chief Whip, has asserted that no airport in Ghana can be credited to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming that all recent airport projects were initiated by the previous NDC administration and completed under NPP tenure.
At the launch of the NDC’s campaign in Tamale, Agbodza stated, “There is no airport in Ghana that is the brainchild of the NPP. President Mahama rehabilitated Kotoka Terminal 2, Mahama’s newly built Terminal 3, and phases of Kumasi Airport were started by Mahama and completed by the NPP.”
He continued, highlighting the history of airport developments across the Northern Region, emphasizing that projects such as Tamale Airport’s runway expansion and terminal building were initiated before NPP governance.
Agbodza underscored the Northern Region’s significance to the NDC, noting strong historical support and commitments to regional development. He pledged further advancements under a prospective Mahama presidency, citing ongoing efforts to alleviate poverty and improve infrastructure.
“The roads, airports and other water supply and agriculture interventions reflect our commitment to the Northern Region,” Agbodza remarked. “We are determined to refocus our message amidst opposition challenges.”
The comments reflect ongoing political narratives as parties gear up for the upcoming elections, each highlighting their contributions to national and regional development.
