The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly condemned the current voter register, asserting that it is unsuitable for the upcoming December 7 elections due to numerous errors and inconsistencies.

Dr Rashid Tanko Computer, the NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, criticized the register as “completely sick,” citing significant irregularities that undermined its reliability.

He noted discrepancies such as polling stations listed with more than 1,000 voters, despite a cap of 700 per station, as evidence of the register’s flaws.

On August 27, the NDC urgently and formally requested an emergency meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to address these concerns, underlining the critical nature of the situation and the immediate need for resolution.

The party highlighted discrepancies identified during the provisional register’s exhibition phase and strongly urged a thorough review to ensure electoral integrity, emphasizing their commitment to fair and transparent elections.
