Benjamin Kofi Quashie, Chairman of the NDC South Africa Council of Elders, has raised concerns about Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s suitability as running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as discredited due to past controversies.
In an interview following NAPO’s confirmation, Mr Quashie pointed to NAPO’s tenure as Education Minister, marked by aggressive leadership and allegations of financial mismanagement.
He criticized NAPO’s handling of educational policies and cited incidents like the procurement of inflated educational materials and the controversial introduction of the double-track system in SHSs.
Mr Quashie also highlighted NAPO’s divisive remarks and criticized policies like Comprehensive Sexuality Education, painting a picture of leadership lacking in judgment and empathy.
According to Mr. Quashie, these factors collectively raise doubts about NAPO’s ability to serve as vice president effectively.
