John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphasized the need for experienced leadership to steer Ghana’s economy.
Speaking to the Ada Traditional Council on August 27, Mahama argued that the country requires a seasoned leader rather than a newcomer.
“We don’t have time; Ghana does not have the luxury of time,” Mahama said.
“Our youth are the future, and they are also our present, and they don’t have the luxury of trial and error.”
He criticized electing untested leaders, suggesting that such individuals could exacerbate the nation’s economic challenges.
Mahama, who has previously served as President, stressed that Ghana needs a leader with a proven track record.
“We need experience; we need one who has done it before,” he stated.
“We need the licensed driver to take over the vehicle and move it towards where God has said we should be.”
