The??parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC ), for the Kwabre East??Constituency, Mr. Fatao Ilyiasu has predicted that ,if??President John Mahama is endorsed??at the party?s extra ordinary congress schedules on 29th?- 31st?of??the month in??Kumasi??as??its??flagbearer for the upcoming??elections??in December, he will be a??tough nut??to crack??by the main opposition party the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
? He noted that the campaign message by the NPP was directly focused on the health issues of the late President Atta Mills and with his demise they would find it very difficult to use President Mahama in the same way to sustain their campaigns.
According to him, the charisma of President Mahama makes him stands tall among the entire presidential aspirants.
?All these stages he has metamorphosed through in the political circle have made him acquired vast knowledge and rich governance experience,? he noted.
The aspiring MP was convinced that President Mahama??has what??it takes to influence the masses especially the youth to??vote??for??NDC in??the polls??to continue??the??good works??of his late predecessor Professor??Atta Mills.
??Though??we are yet to endorse President Mahama??to bear the flag??of the party,??his confirmation??will by all??mean??send the fraternities of the NPP shivering???because he??is a man who??is?humble but very??tough , NPP is going??to run??for their??money. It will be a herculean task for Nana Akufo??Addo??to beat President Mahama??at the polls??which will never happen,? he said convincible
He??indicated that, Nana Akufo??Addo has been boating??off that??it??was through his efforts that??mobile??phones??were brought to Ghana but forgetting??the fact that during the era President Mahama??was a the??minister of Communications??therefore??his(Nana Addo?s ) claim??is a mere political talk and self glorification,
?Nana Addo has boasting that he was the first?person to have lured mobile company ,the Mobitel to Ghana , he probably has forgotten that??President Maham was the minister of Communications??when that initiative was implemented,???he quizzed.
The aspiring??MP??assured that though??all the functionaries of the NDC would be civil in their??political discourse they??would match the NPP boot for boot ?civility in our political deliberations?should not be seen??by??some elements??in the NPP as our weaken, we shall match them boot for??boot, we??would??no longer??allow ourselves to??intimidations??and harassments??as??occurred in 2008,???he stressed.
Mr. Ilyiasu??who was sure??bet of winning the seat for his party urged??its??supporters to put??their??forts together??and work very??hard to dethrone??the reigning NPP??MP. ?Our efforst to defeat the NPP?in both Presidential and?Parliamentary??elections??can materialize only??when we remain united and work??with tenacity of purpose???he??believed.??Mr. Ilyaisu entreated the?youth?especially those from Zongo communities to desist from any political influences?to lure them???to?engage??in violent acts before, during and after the??polls.
He said the present enduring peace should be protected by all manner of persons??since without peace the governance of??the country??would??be??extremely???problematic.
