According to the Human Right Lawyer, the problems of Madina are problem of leadership: “The youth unemployment issues, when it comes to the lack for support for our mothers who are involved in trading, the lack of social interventions which are completely non existence, and the difficulty and challenges we face in Madina is not that we do not have people in place, we have people but what we lack in Madina is leaders”.

He said leaders go beyond their immediate purview and defined goals which they live by, leaders set targets and they work towards achieving those targets. To him, a new face (He) in Madina will increase the electoral fortunes of the ruling National Democratic Congress.

“I am of a strong view that His Excellency President Mahama needs a lot of votes for one touch victory in 2016?.

Speaking at the news conference to state his various activities during his campaign, mission and reason for contesting, Mr. Sosu stated that Madina Constituency which has over 90,000 voter population has the potential to really determine who wins the presidential elections in 2016. There is therefore, no doubt that a credible, marketable, new face can pull a trick for our great party, the ruling NDC, he stressed. ‘In Madina there is no doubt that the current Member of Parliament has lost popularity and lost touch with the people and leaders of the Madina constituency”. According to him, the voting pattern for the last 3 terms clearly shows growing voter apathy and gradual and proportional reduction of the Presidential votes and very gargantuan reduction in that of the Parliamentary.

He enumerated four thematic areas to focus on when given the nod:

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT: “I wish to create jobs for the youth (school dropouts) through skills acquisition and creative arts. I will also establish an employment Agency to assist at graduates to find jobs and provide entrepreneurial training. Under sports Development-Lobbying and raising funds to develop sports facilities in Madina. A sports complex. Create carrier opportunities through sports for the youth”.WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWWERMENT PROJECT: Putting traders and small scallops business and employed women into economic empowerment project. Project out of poverty would be introduced to help people move from one stage of economic ladder to the other.EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT AND INFRASTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT-Lobbying for physical infrastructure (Drains and access roads) scholarship packages for needy but brilliant students.DIRECT SOCIAL PROJECTS-Aged Care, Legal Aid,Orphan care,Kayayei and Children, to be located in some selected communities within the constituency.

He said as legal practitioner, he is better qualified to make better laws to engender growth and development.
