Samuel Yaw Adusei, former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, has cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against complacency as the party aims to secure 35% of the vote in the Ashanti region during the 2024 general elections.
Addressing party supporters, Adusei emphasized the importance of rallying behind the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, and the party’s parliamentary candidates. He described the NDC as the key to reversing the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ‘s poor economic management.
Adusei made the remarks while presenting two motorbikes and an undisclosed amount of money to the Bantama Constituency branch of the NDC to support their electoral campaign.
“The NDC represents the only viable alternative for Ghanaians seeking to address the current economic challenges,” Adusei stated. “I urge our supporters in the Ashanti region to increase their efforts. Ashanti is a crucial battleground, and we must avoid complacency. The NPP aims for an 85% vote share in this region, while our goal is 35%. Unity and determination are essential for achieving this target and securing a national victory.”
In response, Kwadwo Addai Dapaah, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Bantama, committed to working diligently to win the seat.
“I assure you of my commitment to securing the Bantama parliamentary seat,” Addai Dapaah said. “The support from Hon. Yaw Adusei is greatly appreciated. We will utilize the motorbikes to enhance our campaign efforts in the constituency and remain vigilant against complacency.”
