Netball competition to mark Ghana’s Republic Day

The Netball Federation of Ghana will organize a Netball tournament on Friday June 1, 2016 to commemorate this year’s Republic Day celebration.


The tournament, Dubbed “Joseph Arthur Republic Day Netball Tournament” is being sponsored by Fair Point Football Club based at Kpone-on-sea near Tema. The one day tournament which takes place at kpone will attract teams from Odumase Krobo.


A press release issued by the Netball Federation of Ghana and signed by its President Reverend E.D. Nikoi said, Krobo Warriors and Manya Klo Ladies from Odumase-Krobo and Fair Point Ladies and Rising Souls Ladies Netball Clubs based at Kpone-on-sea would take part in the tournament. At stake are attractive prizes donated by the sponsor.

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Nana Oye Lithur will be the Guest of Honour at the tournament. The special Guests are; the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the MP for Kpone-Katamanso and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, the District Chief Executive for Kpone-Katamanso, Alhaji Antiaye Tetteh, the Kpone Mantse Nii Tetteh Otu and the Commander of the Kpone-Katamanso Division of the Ghana Police Service.

The Director of Technical Affairs of the Netball Federation of Ghana Mr C. O. Quao and the president of the Federation Rev. E. D. Nikoi will supervise the tournament.
