Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi arrived in Zambia on Thursday for one day state visit.
The Botswana leader told reporters upon arrival that he was in Zambia to strengthen and broaden the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
He further expressed Botswana’s commitment to deepen and grow the existing relations and assured of his government’s resolve to continue with joint projects embarked on by his predecessor.
He later held bilateral talks at State House with President Edgar Lungu where the two leaders pledged to strengthen the existing ties, according to state broadcaster, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation.
Masisi took office on April 1, following the stepping down of former President Ian Khama ahead of next year’s elections.
He is currently on a regional tour after assuming office. Enditem
