Mr. Patrick Anumel, New CEO of FNSL

Bank of Ghana has approved the appointment of Mr. Patrick Anumel as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of First National Savings and Loans Company (FNSL).

Prior to joining First National, he was the CEO of International Bank (Liberia) Limited, an American-owned bank in Liberia.

Before his appointment in Liberia, Mr. Patrick Anumel was the General Manager (Consumer and Retail Banking) at CAL Bank in Ghana for three years, after having been promoted from his previous position of Director of Banking Services Department of the same bank.

At CAL, among other things, he spearheaded the genesis and development of the retail banking operations of the bank with the roll out of a number of bank branches and several retail banking products.

He previously worked with Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) where he started his banking career as a Credit Officer, rising to become a Branch Manager in various branches of the bank and later became a Senior Manager and part-time Lecturer/Trainer in Credit Analysis and Project Financing.

Mr. Anumel comes to First National with a wealth of knowledge and experience in banking and finance at a time that FNSL is preparing to transform into a Universal Banking institution.

Mr. Anumel has extensive senior-level practical experience in various aspects of banking and finance involving Development, Corporate and Retail Banking.

He was trained by HSBC Bank in London, Citibank in Kenya, former Economic Development Institute (EDI) of World Bank in South Africa and has attended a number of international workshops, seminars and conferences relating to banking and finance.

Mr.  Anumel was the Vice-President and later the President of Liberia Bankers? Association. He is a member of Ghana Association of Consultants.

He obtained both his first and second degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon. Mr. Patrick Anumel is married and has a son and a daughter.

Meanwhile management of FNSL will today launch its Automated Teller Machine (ATM) facility in Accra.

The event, which will be held at the company?s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra, will operate 24-hours a day and 7 days in a week.

The facility will also allow customers of the bank to make withdrawals at any ATM facility of the company throughout the country.
