The New Nation School, a Cambridge associate school specilising in British IGSCE and A-level Curriculum, has outdoored a new state-of-the-art school campus in Accra.
The new campus has modernised classrooms, computer and science laboratories to aid teaching and learning.
Dr John Kpikpi, Co-founder of the School, at the official opening, called on government to provide a well-defined and structured syllabus for students.
He said a syllabus that was focused on the overall performance of students was needed and not one that was just focused on passing examinations.
Dr Kpikpi said a structured syllabus would help students to be able to cover what they needed to be taught adequately and on time.
That, he said, would bring relief to teachers, who would have adequate time to prepare their lessons and take students through thoroughly.
Dr Kpikpi said: “Government and policy makers should develop a more positive approach to private education in the country for maximum benefit of children who need good quality education.”
He said the School over the years had triggered development in its vicinity, the Ashaley Botwe and Lakeside communities, saying: “The very poor road network and drainage system leading to the School have received massive facelift.”
“The School built over 150 meters drainage and road surfacing works to make the road behind the Islamic University motorable,” he stressed.
The School runs nursery, primary, lower and upper secondary education, with 59 full-time teaching and 120 non-teaching staff.
