Justice George Kingsley Koomson, a Justice of the Court of Appeal, will on Thursday, June 30, 2022, swear the newly elected National Executive Officers of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) into office.
A statement issued and signed by Mr Kofi Yeboah, General Secretary-Elect of the GJA and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, on Tuesday, said he would administer the Oath of Office to the new national executive members at a ceremony to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre at 1000 hours, on Thursday.
The members are Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President; Mrs Linda Asante-Agyei, Vice President; Mr Kofi Yeboah, General Secretary and Mr Dominic Hlordzi, National Organising Secretary.
The rest are: Mrs Audrey Dekalu, Treasurer and Ms Rebecca Ekpe, Public Affairs Officer.
The statement said the newly elected executives would serve for a three-year term.
The ceremony, it said, would be chaired by Professor Amin Alhassan, Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, adding that Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information, would be the Special Guest.
It also added that the ceremony would be telecast live by the national broadcaster, GBC, and other media houses.
Dignitaries expected to attend the ceremony include members of the Diplomatic Corps, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, representatives of development partners, heads of media institutions and members of the inky fraternity, it said.
At the regional level, the statement said, similar swearing-in ceremonies were expected to be organised for newly elected regional executive members of the Association.
