The National Homeownership Fund (NHF) is making strides in providing affordable housing to Ghanaians. Since construction began in April 2024, 129 new units are now 55% complete.
During a site visit on August 23, 2024, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Works and Housing, commended the rapid progress of Phase 3 of the NHF project. He praised the efficiency and quality of the work, noting that the units are nearing the roofing stage.
“This is impressive progress,” Nkrumah remarked. “The speed and quality of this project highlight the effectiveness of our collaboration with the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) and the Ministry of Works and Housing.”
The NHF aims to address Ghana’s housing deficit by offering affordable mortgage options to public and private sector workers.
Nkrumah emphasized the importance of partnerships in overcoming housing challenges and encouraged applying this project’s successful methods to future housing initiatives.
He challenged the NHF to extend these achievements to district housing projects, stressing the goal of ensuring every Ghanaian has access to decent and affordable housing.
