A one day workshop has been held for service providers of the National Health Insurance Authority in the Kwabre East District.?The workshop organized by the District Directorate of the National Health Insurance Authority was to congratulate the service providers for their contribution to the scheme for the past ten years it has been in operation and also to alert them on the various changes they are to expect in the scheme for the next year.
?Addressing the participants, the Claims Manager, Mr. Eric Asiedu said the Authority will from next year charge a new list for drugs as part of the annual review system of the scheme. He said reviewing the prices of the drugs will bring about conformity in treatment guidelines and the economic conditions.
He therefore appealed to the providers to contribute their quota to make it successful.? He also enumerated some of the challenges they face in their office in dealing with the claims brought to their office by the service providers. He appealed to them to write eligibly to make their demands easily solved.
For his part the District Manager, Mr.? Mohammed Kamal revealed that the scheme will soon introduce biometric insurance cards. The biometric card according to him is intended to reduce the hardships customers have to go through when they first register unto the scheme. He said the biometric cards will reduce the undue delays since it will be on instant basis.
