All is now set for the Nigeria’s Sand Super Eagles to depart the country for the forthcoming 2015 CAF Beach Soccer tournament in Roche Caiman, Seychelles.
The Head Coach of the team, Audu Ejo, told reporters in Lagos on Saturday that with the enormous support from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) the team would perform well.
“We have never had it so good, in terms of support and encouragement, the President and Vice President of the federation have done well. They have been with us during training,” said Ejo.
“As we speak, our tickets and our hotel reservations have been made, something that has never happened,” he added.
Eight countries from the confederations, namely Egypt, Morocco, Madagascar, Senegal, Ghana, Cote d’Ivorie, Seychelles and Nigeria had qualified for the final tournament.
No fewer than 16 players were invited for camping which opened on March 19, and 12 will be chosen to represent the country in the tournament.
In the 2013 edition of the CAF championship in Morocco, Sand Eagles crashed out in the second round.
The top two teams in the championship would represent Africa in the 2015 World Cup in Portugal. Enditem
