Nigerian forces on Tuesday attacked hideouts of bandits in the northern state of Kaduna, Air Force spokesperson Ibikunle Daramola said.
The operation “neutralized” several of the bandits and destroyed some of their logistics supplies, he said.
He said the bandits, after driving away the original inhabitants of the area, had continued to operate from the locations with impunity.
“The NAF detailed its attack aircraft to conduct series of air raids at the bandits’ camps resulting in the destruction of some of the logistics facilities and structures housing the bandits as well as the neutralization of several of them,” Daramola said, using the acronym of the Nigerian Air Force.
“The airstrikes also paved way for ground forces to conduct mop-up operations, supported by NAF combat helicopters,” Daramola said.
He said the air force would work with other security agencies to flush the bandits out of northwest Nigeria. Enditem
