Nigerian ICT experts seek global best practice to boost businesses

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) experts in Nigeria have said global best practice and the adoption of standard certifications, are sure ways to boost businesses in the country. ICT
The experts, who spoke at the 4th edition of the Prosperity Media Forum held in Lagos, the country’s commercial hub on Thursday, said international standards for business continuity and information security would improve business through planned and effective management at all levels.
The benefits, they said, included organization-wide identification and understanding of critical business processes and the impact of disruption, timely and orderly responses to incidents.
Femi Kolawole, the event organizer, said the forum is to help focus on the vast opportunities which ICT offers and how Nigeria can benefit more from it than its current state.
Kolawole urged foreign investor to support ICT in their investment in the West African country.
Discussants at the forum with the theme: “Improving Business in Nigeria and Expanding Sustainable Development through ICT” maintained that one of the key benefits of the global best practice standards for business continuity and information security was suitability to businesses of all sizes across all sectors.
