Nigerian leader Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday departed for the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The trip is Buhari’s first foreign visit since he returned to Nigeria last month following a prolonged medical leave in London.
According to a statement by presidential spokesman Femi Adesina, the Nigerian leader is to participate in the general debate at the UN meeting.
Buhari is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement at the General Assembly.
The Nigerian leader would also meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and U.S. President Donald Trump and other foreign leaders, Adesina said. Enditem
