A most wanted armed group leader in central Nigeria has been killed by the military and special forces during an operation in that part of the country, Nigeria’s defense headquarters said on Friday.
In a statement, the defense authorities said the wanted militia leader identified as Terugwa Igbagwa was killed in the central Nigerian state of Benue. No clue was given about how or when he was killed.
According to the statement, Igbagwa was the “second most wanted criminal kingpin” in Nigeria.
“He was responsible for kidnapping, armed robbery, assassination, gunrunning, and other criminal activities around Katsina-Ala, Ukum, and Logo local government areas of the state for many years,” added the statement. Enditem
