Nigerian police said on Thursday that they had arrested 23 criminal suspects, including alleged kidnappers and armed bandits in the northeastern state of Adamawa.
Olugbenga Adeyanju, the state’s police chief, told reporters in Yola, capital of the state, that the suspects were apprehended in connection with kidnapping activities in some parts of the state within a week.
He urged criminal gangs in the state to either surrender or leave the state.
Adeyanju reiterated the commitment of the police to protect lives and property, and called on the people to provide credible information to the police to enhance security in the state. Enditem
