Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou will pay a state visit to China from May 26 to 30 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

Issoufou, 67, served as prime minister of Niger, and president of the National Assembly.

He was first elected president of Niger in March 2011, and won a second term in March 2016.

Issoufou attended the opening ceremony of the fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing in July 2012. He also attended the Beijing Summit of the FOCAC in September 2018. Enditem
