The number of people injured in the shooting in the state university in Russia’s Perm reached 19, a spokesman for emergency services told Sputnik on Monday.
“According to updated data, 19 people were injured in the shooting in Perm,” the spokesman said.
This does not include fatalities. Eight people were killed, according to the Russian Investigative Committee.
The emergency services also said that a plane with the necessary medical equipment had left Moscow for Perm to provide assistance to those injured.
According to the latest data by the national health ministry, seven people have been hospitalized in Perm’s medical facilities. One of the patients is in serious condition, while others sustained moderate injuries.
Fore more people received medical assistance on the spot, the ministry said.
Russia’s VK social network, in the meantime, told Sputnik it deleted the post on the attack by the suspect and blocked his account following the shooting.
The social network will continue to monitor the situation and look for fake accounts and copies of the original post on the attack, the press service added.
