Kosta Papic Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak has said he won’t blame anybody for his team’s defeat against Aduana Stars in their Match Day One fixture played on Wednesday at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro.

The match was originally scheduled to be matchday one of the premiership but was postponed due to reports of cases of COVID 19 infections.

At a post-match interview Papic said, “We didn’t vary our tactics used in our last game for this game.

“In our last match we played well in the first half but today the first half was not good. The second half of our last match was great but today it wasn’t. It’s a different story,” he added.

He stated that it was normal to expect a bumpy ride to expectations and wasn’t anticipating match results would always favour him, stressing, ‘with humans there’s always bound to be a struggle, and for that matter to create and to miss opportunities is a usual thing in football’.

Hearts lost the game 2-0 and it was the first win for Aduana after the resumption of the premier league.

He indicated that he was hopeful things would turn out for good and would see improvement in the team’s performance in subsequent games.

The Coach also refused to attribute the loss to complacency on the part of the players having emerged from defeat in their last two games to win their last the game before facing Aduana Stars.

“It doesn’t look like the players were ready for this match,” he added.

Coach Papic explained the reason for his substitution was that he needed a goal, expressing optimism the team will come back in better shape after breaking for Christmas and returning to continue their campaign for the title in January 2021.

He praised Aduana Stars for their splendid performance.
