Northern Regional Library Authority Empower Youth on Digital Skills

Northern Regional Library Authority trained Youth on digital skills to empower them with various technologies to enhance creatively in their job role.

Mr Aaron Kuwornu, the Northern Regional Director of Ghana Library Authority said the training held in Tamale was part of the Youth Engagement project Centre implemented by Ghana Library Authority funded by unicef was to build the capacity of the youth to be able to deliver digital youth work at the local and the regional level.

He indicated that the training was to address digital media and technology in youth work practice in the Northern Region.

He stated that there is a need for the Youth to learn digital technology which would assist them to enhance education, reduce youth unemployment and also to promote socioeconomic development in the country.

Mr Kuwornu called on the Youth to benefit from these opportunities by being equipped with a range of technological skills and to have affordable access to connectively.

Mr Patrick Kwaku Akorli, the Youth Engagement Centre Coordinator in the Northern Region said the digital training skills has become very necessary as result for the need to promote effort toward getting all the young once into digital literate to take advantage of the various opportunities the digital transformation is offering worldwide.

He also lighted on the Youth Engagement project, say the project was to provide a sustainable program for the youth including disadvantaged groups

by co-creating with young people in communities where the selected youth engagement centers would be operationalized.
