Patriotic Party (NPP) are warning the supporters and followers of the current Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the NPP in the constituency stop stop their continuous habit of defaming and attacking the integrity of the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Offinso North District Assembly, Dr Albert Sefa Boampong
The youth wing of the NPP has consequently urged saboteurs to leave their DCE alone, maintaining that the DCE,’ has worked to bring about unprecedented development to Offinso North constituency.
“It has come to our notice a presser coming from some unscrupulous people parading themselves as leading members of the Offinso North Youth, making unsubstantiated allegations against the indefatigable and astute District Chief Executive, hence calling on the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to remove him from the position of a District Chief Executive,” the NPP noted.
In a strong worded press statement and copied to this news outlet, the group stated categorically that the said people are not part of the youth wing of the NPP in the Offinso North constituency,” adding that “Because they are all more than 50 years of age and have never been involved in the youth activities in polling stations, electoral areas, and the constituency at large.
According to the group, the said people are just making false allegations on the persona of our enviable DCE, who is working so hard in conjunction with discerning stakeholders who seek the development of the district as a topmost priority.
For the records the group asserted that through collaborations with the right people, our DCE is leading a charge to get for every community in the district electricity, a move which is gaining for us electoral fortunes come December 2024.
“Distribution of farm inputs through out the constituency: Yes, it is factual that the DCE is making it a reality the vision by His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo and Dr Mahmoud Bawumia, by ensuring free distribution of farm inputs supplied by government to all manner of people within the district as the policy demands,” the group noted.
5. The distribution of farm inputs has been a key strategy adopted over the years by the assembly to promote wealth creation in the district.
To date, over 10 million seedlings of cashew and 80000 seedlings coconut have been supplied to farmers of all shades of our political divide.
This has been a major anchor of our political fortunes in the constituency. It is, therefore, inimical and unpleasant to say that the people who are benefiting from the policy initiative are only NDC members.
It justified that the DCE, as Honourable as he is, is executing his job as fair as possible to the benefit of all manner of people living in the district.
According to the group, this can not be a tool to antagonise the fortunes of the new Patriotic Party of which the DCE was once a chairman and a leading partner not just too long ago.
“We believe, the strategy by the DCE is rather helping to strengthen and win for the party voters in the Offinso North constituency since governance is supposed to be beneficial to all manner of persons without reference to political colouration,” the group clarified.
The group stated that the so-called group is much of people who preached “Skirt and Blouse ” during the 2020 general elections against the current member of parliament which made Nana Addo Danquah securing 2000 more votes than the Current member of parliament.
It noted that this was largely because they wanted every move to unseat the current MP by then. So, they are harbouring the fear of reciprocation by people whom they consider close associates of the current MP, Honourable Augustine Collins Ntim.
It mentioned that they are of the perception that what they did against Honourable AC NTIM, is now coming back to bite them hard because of Karma, hence every action by anyone who is close to Honourable Augustine Collins Ntim is misinterpreted to mean to hurt the electoral fortunes of the current PC, Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah.
The group categorically stated that nobody who follows Augustine Collins Ntim is doing anything to the detriment of the party and Our Parliamentary Candidate, but the very surrogates selected by Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah.
For the records, the group noted that a reconciliation committee led by the Chairmen of the Offinso-Kwabre Zone started working with a series of meetings with all stakeholders in the parliamentary primaries.
According to the group, these unscrupulous people know very well that there is good news for the party going into the elections with unity, they have decided to do things that will further divide the party.
It indicated that these allegations are just a tip of the iceberg, which, for the health of the party, we can not make public.
“We therefore wish to state that the president and the entire public should disregard and treat the so-called presser with disdain,” the group stressed.
