The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing to officially unveil Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with the ceremony set to take place in the party’s stronghold, the Ashanti Region.
In a recent Facebook post, Henry Nana Boakye, NPP’s National Organizer, announced the forthcoming event, indicating that the party will soon disclose details regarding the date, time, venue, and other specifics.
On July 1, 2024, Dr Bawumia informed the party’s national executives of his choice of running mate. After discussions by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council, an emergency meeting, chaired by National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, has been convened for July 4 to finalize the decision on the running mate.
The event in the Ashanti Region is expected to mark a significant moment in the NPP’s strategy for the upcoming elections, solidifying its campaign structure for the December polls.
