… As they still clench onto “All-die-be-die” mantra, even after turning to God

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by its 2012 flagbearer and defeated 2008 presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo is still holding on to its “All-die-be-die” mantra even after the party’s prayer session held at the Essipong Stadium in the Western region to pray for a peaceful presidential and parliamentary elections in December.

The flagbearer, Akufo-Addo, who now leading the NPP which is indeed violent in nature, has on several occasions beaten war drums, inciting their supporters to “kill” and to “die” just to make way for Akufo-Addo to ascend the presidency.

As the people of Ghana waited with baited breath on the NPP to come out ‘clean’ and more pious, with the leaders having a change of heart and knowing that the NPP as a political party has human beings as followers/supporters and these human beings have feelings and are very unpredictable, these short-sighted NPP members and their leaders failed to follow the footsteps of Christ from whom they sought favour during their inter-denominational prayer session.

The NPP has in the past months made it their deliberate campaign strategy to constantly beat war drums ahead of this year’s general elections, with many guns in the party having threatened violence and bloodshed in the country if the NPP loses the elections again in 2012.

Ghanaians can recall that not too long after the NPP flagbearer set the ball rolling with his “all-die-be-die,” and “we the Akans” war songs, some other big guns in the party followed in the same order.

It is however not surprising that the NPP National Organiser Anthony Karbo will ask supporters of the elephant party to be very “combative” and be ready to use force, and be fearless so as to fight the NDC out of power. It is evident that the NPP plans mayhem in the coming elections.

Indeed, it is on record that during an indoor meeting with party activists in Koforidua, the NPP flagbearer in trying hard to sew a seed of political violent and to hype the ethically biased nature of the NPP,  categorically stated that, “Akans are not the cowards that we are perceived to be by the other tribes. The little violence that we displayed at Atiwa was just the tip of the iceberg of what NPP will do in 2012.”

Nana Akufo-Addo indeed sent his supporters to the Danquah-Busia days where they went as far as planting a bomb inside a bouquet for a school girl with the intention of killing Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, sadly the school girl was torn into pieces.

Again, on September 9, 1962, another bomb exploded near the flagstaff where young pioneers were entertaining an audience to modern Ghanaian music. One person was killed and several injured, On Sept 18, 1962, two bombs exploded in Accra, killing and maiming several people. One of these blasts occurred in Lucas house in Accra where 9 children fell dead on the spot, On January 11, 1963, a bomb exploded at a CPP rally- over 20 people were killed and more than 400 people injured including children and members of young pioneer.

Also in 1965, another bomb, exploded at the Accra Sports stadium meant to assassinate Nkrumah. Many sustained severe injuries including a little girl, Elizabeth Asantewa, who had one of her legs amputated while the other one rotted away.

It is indeed clear that the NPP are best at bomb throwing that even among themselves, they settle disputes through bombs- in 2001, NPP members in Ho “petrol bombed” the house of their Volta Regional Organizer, Johnson Avulete.

All these notwithstanding, the people of Ghana were hoping that the NPP will come out of the prayers pushing the past behind them, and re-sing their war song. But Nana Akufo-Addo who is hell bent on winning the 2012 elections at all cost, is sure to kill and destroy even if the heavens fall.

He made it clear that 2012 is going to be a do-and-die affair, “We [NPP] need to win the election of 2012 at all cost.” Indeed the NPP’s prayer session was staged to cover up their gargantuan diabolic plans for 2012 election.
