The donation to the hospital was in response to a humble plea by the hospital authorities, with regards to a number of situations that hinder progress of the work at the facility especially the leakage of the hospital`s roof when it rained.

Hon. Nii Lante Bannerman noted that as part of his social responsibilities to support and promote health care in the constituency, he deemed it necessary to support the Usher Polyclinic considering its current state.

He stated that, he will use his capacity as an MP to embark on getting the hospital a face lift to provide better health care to the people of James town and it surrounding neighborhoods should the NPP win the seat of government.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, the Deputy Director for nursing services at the Usher Polyclinic, Madam Catherine, commended the NPP Parliamentary candidate and Mrs. Rebecca Akufo Addo for fulfilling their promises, adding that the hospital authorities and staff were overwhelmed with the awesome gesture.

“They came to pay kind gesture to the pregnant women in our ward and we appealed to them to help us renovate our leaking roofing sheet”, she said.

“The Wife of Nana Akufo Addo, Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo and Nii Lante Bannerman promised to extend their support and truly they have fulfilled their promise”, Madam Catherine maintained.

She therefore called on other benevolent citizens who had the health of others at heart to consider the philanthropic step taken by the wife of the flag bearer of the NPP and the aspiring Member of Parliament to come to their aid in helping better the conditions of the facility to serve the people in the community and its environs.
