Professor Peter Twumasi Director – General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), has commended Youth Olympic gold medalist, Martha Bissah for the bold decision she took to apologize to the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA).
The 800m athlete was suspended indefinitely in 2016 by the then Prof. Francis Dodoo’s led administration for accusing the Association of extortion.
The United States of America (USA) – based athlete issued an apology letter to the GAA through the NSA on Wednesday, November 24 for her misconduct before the ban was lifted.
The NSA congratulated all parties who helped in lifting the ban from Bissah.
The sports authority praised the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Mustapha Ussif and the officials of the NSA for engaging the 23-year old and the GAA to settle the issue.
NSA wished Bissah well in her new chapter with the Athletics Association.
