South Sudan’s Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed 151 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number in the country to 806.
Makur Matur Koriom, undersecretary in the Ministry of Health, said the latest cases are from 243 samples which were tested in the last 48 hours.
“Out of 243 samples, 151 tested positive. This account for 62 percent of all the samples tested over the last 48 hours,” Koriom said in a statement issued in Juba.
He said the latest cases were results of the ongoing contact tracing and surveillance.
The east African nation has so far recorded eight deaths and six recoveries. Enditem
