A 24- seated public washroom is currently under construction at Obilieman-Opah community in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region to help improve the sanitation in the community.
The construction of the modern toilet is being funded by the Chief of Obilieman- Opah, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I at an estimated cost of GHc50, 000. The chief’s decision is because of the lack of public facility in the community, while many homes are also without a place of convenience.
Nii Anumle Oyanka I told the Daily Express that the facility when completed will reduce the rate of open defection in the community and improve the welfare of his people.
The chief who doubles as the Acting Paramount Chief of Abola Piam We of the Ga State pledged to continue to do his best positively touch the lives of people in the society. He called on corporate organisations and philanthropists to support the project.
