Three members of Odai Ntow Family at Kwabenya and Ashongman in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Issac Badu Agyemang, Mr Freeman Mustapha and Mr Godson Tackie who were arrested for brutalising police officers in the Comet Police Station at Brekuso of the Eastern Region are to be hauled before the Aburi District Police Headquarters on Tuesday September 17,2024.
The three persons who are granted police inquiry bail have invited to appear before Aburi District Police Headquarters before the would they would be changed for their offences of attacking police officers at their station.
It will be recalled that on on Thursday, September 12, 2024 police officers in the Comet Police Station at Brekuso located in the foothills of the Aburi Ridge have apprehended three persons perceived to be anotorious landguards who are working for the Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya in Accra.
The thugs, who are allegedly affiliated with the Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya, were arrested for attacking three police officers stationed at Comet Estates, located at the foothills of the Aburi Ridge in the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred around 10:15 A.M. when the landguards stormed the police station in an attempt to forcibly release a a surveyor for Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya and Ashongman who had been invited by the police for questioning.
The surveyor, Emmanuel Asare is accused of unlawfully entering land belonging to Comet Properties Company Limited, a prominent real estate developer in the region.
During the confrontation, the attackers severely assaulted Lance Corporal Daniel Donkor, Corporal Oboh Samuel, and Chief Inspector Seidu Alhassan, all stationed at the Comet Police Station.
The officers managed to subdue the assailants and took them into custody.
Following their arrest, the three suspects provided caution statements to the police.
The suspect surveyor, Emmanuel Asare reportedly hired by members of the Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya and Ashongman, was found unlawfully on land owned by Comet Properties Company Limited.
The land in question is part of a larger estate that Comet Properties acquired in 2002 from Akwapim families in Brekuso, Eastern Region.
The estate, known as Comet Estates, spans over 1,000 acres and has since been developed into a thriving urban community under the jurisdiction of the Akwapim South Municipal Assembly.
The property is fully registered with the Lands Commission in Koforidua.
