Addressing the celebration, Nii Kortey Boi II, Ofankor Mantse urged parents and guardians to pay attention to the education of their wards so that they could grow to become responsible citizens.
Nii Boi also the Presiding Member of the Assembly advised parents not to spend lavishly during funerals and festive occasions to the neglect of their children’s education.
“It is about time parents and guardians acknowledge that education is the only true legacy they can bequeath their children,” she said.
Nii Boi also called on parents to pay frequent visits to the schools and have firsthand information and get involved in the Parent-Teacher Associations and School Management Committees to discuss their children’s welfare.
