Oil thieves shoots down Nigerian Police

Gunmen suspected to be oil thieves have reportedly injured two police corporals attached to the Festac Police Station,Lagos State.


A reporter of the Per Second News at the scene said that combined armed team of military personnel including the Navy, Army and men from the area E Police Command Festac town, have been warding off the attack from oil militants from the coastline at 7th avenue.

The militants have been engaging the security officials in a deadly gun duel as early as 5 am Tuesday morning.

Sources say the militants were having a field day loading fuel in kegs and taking it through boats, when they were accosted by the military and shooting ensued that got the officers injured.

Per Second News can confirm that some arrests have been made with residents in panic mode owing to the tense situation in the area as a result of the scarcity of fuel presently affecting the nation that has led to the militants carrying out this act.
