Cofounder and Chairman of Clean Ghana Army (CGA), Sam Dentu, has called on the citizenry to play their part in achieving the government’s noble vision of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa.

In an interview with News Ghana on 1st May, 2018 to embark on a placard campaign at both toll booths on the Accra-Tema Motorway, Mr. Sam Dentu indicated that, while government has a duty and takes up the lead role in solving these sanitation problems, the citizenry as stakeholders also have a critical role to play.

CGA, he said is therefore motivated to attract more Ghanaians through it’s advocacy campaign, to support the National Sanitation discourse

He said, even though in the Short-term CGA on course with its flagship project dubbed “Clean and Educate” within the Central Business District (CBDs) including lorry parks, markets and other high traffic areas to influence attitudinal change.

He however urged city dwellers and environmental stakeholders to support CGA in order for government’s commitment to rid Accra of filth by the end of his term in office be attainable.

Mr. Dentu reiterated that, as a country, if we really want to fight against filth, there must be a total change and transformation of character when it comes to sanitation.

He added that, flooding, cholera, malaria among many other deadly diseases in our communities are as a result of our actions by the constant littering of the environment in which we live in.
He therefore said, if only we are able to desist from such an act as good citizens, then the dream and vision of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, will come to pass, and then also, our beloved country Ghana, will become a better place for us.
