Op Vanguard Arrest Galamsey

Operation (OP) VANGUARD personnel within the Wassa Akropong Municipality and Amenfi East District in the Western Region have arrested two suspected illegal miners and seized several mining equipment from them.

A statement signed by Captain Andy Sowatey, PRO OP VANGUARD and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said the suspects were arrested during the weekend.

The statement said, the Chinese suspect was handed over to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) Task Force and the Ghanaian, to the Akropong District Police.

The statement said two Excavators were also handed over to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) Task Force following their seizure.
