Opening of the African Development Bank Group External Representation Office for Asia / Press Conference by President Donald Kaberuka
AfDB will open an External Representation Office for Asia in Tokyo as its first office located outside Africa
TOKYO, Japan, October 15, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ ? On October 15, 2012, the African Development Bank Group (http://www.afdb.org), an international financial institution founded to promote the development of Africa, will open the External Representation Office for Asia in Tokyo as its first office located outside Africa. With economic ties between Asia and Africa growing increasingly close, the new office aspires to be a bridge between the two regions, committed to supporting various projects conducive to the further enhancement of exchanges. While visiting Japan to attend the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Mr. Donald Kaberuka, the President of the African Development Bank Group, will hold a press conference at the Imperial Hotel after holding an opening ceremony for the Tokyo Office.

Note: A commemorative reception for Africa will be held following the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, when preparatory work for TICAD V to be held in June 2013 will be fully underway. Participants in the press conference will be admitted upon presenting their name cards at the press reception counter.
