Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Running Mate to Mr John Dramani Mahama, Flagbearer of Ghana’s National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged manufacturing companies and traders to prepare for the party’s 24-hour Economy proposal to rejuvenate the country’s economic prospects.
Addressing concerns about high unemployment and poverty during her regional campaign tour in Denkyira Bibianiha, Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the NDC’s agenda to implement a 24-hour economy as a cornerstone of their economic recovery strategy.
She stated at a durbar of chiefs in the Upper Denkyira East constituency, “The 24-hour economy policy will not only provide tax waivers and reduced tariff rates to businesses but also aims to enhance productivity, create jobs, and bolster household incomes.”
Opoku-Agyemang underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to support small-scale enterprises with necessary resources, including credit facilities, and to develop essential infrastructure in areas like Dunkwa and Denkyira, ensuring a level playing field for all businesses.
She emphasized the NDC’s track record in delivering significant infrastructure projects during previous administrations, urging community leaders to support the party’s bid to continue its developmental initiatives.
“We have a proven record of accomplishment, and we are committed to rebuilding the economy to meet the aspirations of all Ghanaians,” Opoku-Agyemang assured the gathering.
Her remarks come amid efforts by the NDC to rally support ahead of the upcoming elections, promising a future of renewed economic stability and growth under their leadership, a future that we can all look forward to with hope and confidence.
