Accusations of prolonged mismanagement and incompetence marked Saturday’s launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign in Tamale.
Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson condemned President Akufo-Addo’s administration, citing “eight years of bad governance” during his tenure.
Forson criticized the government’s economic policies as inept, accusing it of widespread corruption and misleading the public.
Professor Joshua Alabi, chairman of the NDC campaign team, echoed Forson’s sentiments, predicting an electoral defeat for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on December 7.
Alabi declared Ghana under Akufo-Addo’s leadership was heading in the wrong direction and urged voters to support the NDC to safeguard democracy.
MP Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings warned NDC agents against accepting bribes aimed at compromising election monitoring, emphasizing the party’s commitment to upholding electoral integrity.
She condemned what she described as blatant corruption under the current administration and pledged a zero-tolerance policy if the NDC returns to power.
National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi reinforced the party’s stance, forecasting a change in government come 2024 due to what he termed the “incompetent Akufo-Addo government.” Gyamfi rallied supporters with a promise of imminent victory for the NDC.
The remarks underscored growing political tensions ahead of Ghana’s upcoming elections, highlighting contrasting visions for the nation’s future.
