Oti Regional Youth Employment Agency Equips 200 Graduates with Start-Up Kits After Skills Training

The Oti Regional Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has presented start-up kits to 200 beneficiaries, who completed a six-month intensive skill training programme across the eight Municipalities and Districts of the Region.

The beneficiaries underwent rigorous training in ten trade areas including carpentry, plumbing, beauty care, steel work, electrical installation, auto mechanics, POP works (plaster of Paris), glazing works, painting (Graphic Art) and hairdressing.

Mr David Nkanbonam, the Regional Director of YEA, congratulated the 200 beneficiaries of the skills training program, encouraging them to maximize the opportunities.

He said the Oti YEA was committed to empowering young people with marketable skills, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurship potential.

“Your hard work and dedication have paid off, now, take this training and start-up kits to establish yourselves, create jobs, and contribute to nation-building,” Mr Nkanbonam said.

Deputy Superintendent of Prison (DSP) Mr, Daniel Machator (Rtd), the Oti Regional Minister, commended the YEA for their dedication to providing sustainable jobs to the youth in the Oti Region and Ghana.

The ceremony was held at the forecourt of the Agency in the Krachi East Municipality, where the MCE, encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize their skills to benefit themselves and society, stressing the importance of the role their training plays in nation building.

Mr Machator said the government was committed to empowering the youth as a vital asset in nation-building.

Addressing the participants at the event, the Regional Minister said President Nana Akufo Addo and his government are investing heavily in addressing issues that affect youth development which focusing on economic and financial growth.

The Minister said in line with the vision, the government has operationalized the Technical and Vocational Education and Training system, recognizing its potential to drive progress and societal transformation.

The beneficiaries expressed their joy and happiness to the government through YEA for the support offered them to undergo the six-month training and providing them with start-up kits.
