The king of the Asante Traditional Council, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, has asked Ghanaians to promote and cherish locally manufactured goods that have been tried and tested to be good rather than patronizing foreign products that don’t benefit the country.
Otumfuor visited the COA Research Manufacturing company at Wusorkrom during his three-day visits to Cape Coast. The University of Cape Coast awarded him an Honorary Doctorate. He also graced the Oguaa Fetu Festival Celebration as a special guest.
Addressing the media, the chief linguist of the Asante King, Baffuor Kantankrakye, disclosed that Otumfuor first got to know of the COA Research Manufacturing Company and its CEO, Professor Samuel Ato Duncan, during the Covid-19 era in 2020. Baffuor Kantankrakye pointed out that, the occasion offered Professor Samuel Ato Duncan to show to His Majesty, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, an international award he had received as the best scientific researcher in the world.
Baffuor Kantankrakye indicated that based on his personal experience with the COA Research Manufacturing company products and testimonies about the products both in and outside the country, he deemed it expedient to visit the COA Research Manufacturing company for first-hand information about how he could support the company to boost up production.
Otumfuor Osei Tutu II pledged to give out land to Professor Samuel Ato Duncan to construct another factory in the Ashanti region. He hoped the new factory would enable those in the area and the northern parts of the country to access the COA Research Manufacturing company products.
Professor Samuel Ato Duncan, thanked His Majesty, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, and described the royal visit to COA Research Manufacturing Company as an honor.
He noted that the visit has given him the zeal to embark upon further research findings that will make the world more meaningful for Ghanaians and people globally.
