More than 2,000 accountants general from across Africa are set to convene in Tanzania in December 2024 to discuss key topics such as public financial management, good governance, and accountability, an official announced Wednesday.
Leonard Mkude, Tanzania’s accountant general, said that the conference, organized by the African Association of Accountants General, will take place in the northern city of Arusha from Dec. 3-5.
Mkude said that the event will gather financial leaders, government officials, and experts in public finance to exchange insights and strategies.
The Chairperson of the African Association of Accountants General Malehlohonolo Mahase, who also serves as Lesotho’s accountant general, noted that the inaugural annual conference of the association was held in Maseru, Lesotho, in February 2024.
