The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Director of Education, Sabina Aba Aba Wilson, and the District Chief Executive, Reverend Ransford Kwesi Nyarko, have pleaded with parents in the District to ensure that their children take the ongoing BECE seriously.
The advice stems from reports from the Takyiman Catholic JHS that most candidates were in a festive mood when but expected to sit by their books for the eleventh-hour preparation before the BECE that had just started.
Of sixty-five thousand six hundred and five (65605) candidates anticipated to sit this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the central region, two thousand nine hundred and eighteen (2918) are writing the examination in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District.
These candidates are expected to write the papers in nine examination centres at Ajumako, Ocheso, Ajumako Besease, Osedzi, Sonkwa, Enyan Denyira, and Mando.
Of the numbers, thousand four hundred and thirty-six (1436) are female and the males are one thousand four hundred and eighty-two (1482).
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Reverend Ransford Kwesi Nyarko, and the District Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Sabina Aba Wilson, interacted with the candidates and advised them to take the examination seriously to realize their dreams and vision.
The District Chief Executive, Reverend Ransford Kwesi Nyarko, moved from room to room at the exam centres and advised the candidates to eschew examination malpractices. He urged them to overcome fear and write with confidence. He also counseled them to answer the exam questions with the needed seriousness to ensure that the nine years spent studying at school became fruitful.
He said to gain admission to senior high school, the junior high school (JHS) leavers must meet the requirements by obtaining a good pass. Hence, the DCE asked the BECE candidates to be more serious with the examination, saying that is the only way to benefit from the Free SHS education in the second cycle institutions.
Reverend Ransford Kwesi Nyarko pleaded with parents in the District to support their children’s education and guide them to study hard, especially during the festive seasons in the District.
