Parliamentarians attend final funeral rites of former-Abetifi MP

The remains of the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Abetifi Constituency, the late Peter Wiafe Pepera had been buried after the final funeral rites at his family house at Abetifi on Saturday .


A large number of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters led by the Running Mate of the Flag Bearer of the party, Dr Mamudu Bawumia, parliamentarians from both the majority and the minority sides led by their leaders, Mr Alban Sumanu Gbagbin and Mr Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Assembly members, family members and well wishers attended the final funeral rites and the burial ceremony.

The late MP for Abetifi died on the 21st of May this year at the 37 Military Hospital after a short illness at the age of 62.

The Speaker of Parliament, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, the Minority Caucus in Parliament and the Second Deputy Speaker, Mr Joe Gartey donated GHC 22,630.00 to the family as their support to the funeral of their colleague.

The Majority Caucus also donated GHC20, 000.00 towards the funeral while the Eastern Regional Minister, Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council and government donated GHC2,000.00 and assorted drinks.

The late MP left behind five children and a wife.
