Members of Parliament on Tuesday commiserated with residents and families affected by the Appiatse explosion.

A truck carrying explosives belonging to Maxam Company Limited, on Thursday, January 20, 2022, exploded
resulting in the tragic loss of lives, injuries, and destruction of properties.

Some Parliamentarians in statements in the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana called for relief items for those affected and implored the citizenry to remember the victims in prayers.

The incident destroyed the whole community, Appiatse Bogoso, killing 14 persons and injuring 179.

Preliminary investigations by the Police indicated that the vehicle was transporting explosives to a mining site when the incident occurred.
