Parliament has paid tribute to the late Hon Peter Prepreh Wiafe who until his demise represented the Abetifi Constituency in Parliament.
Reading the tribute to the late member’s memory,the minority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu stated that the late Prepreh Wiafe made many meaningful contributions towards the business of the house. He added that his participation in the work of the house and at committee level was at the apex and he carried his duties well as expected of him.
He added that the late MP was a friend to all and his departure will be missed by all.
Majority leader Algban Bagbin also said the sudden demise of their colleague should take their health into consideration as it can happen to any of them. He however described the late Hon as one who took his work seriously and the country has lost a great product.
The late Pepera Wiafe under the Rawlings Administration was the deputy minister for Trade and Industry. He then joined the New patriotic party (NPP) when he represented the people of Abetifi in the 2009 general Elections and was re elected to represent in 2012 where he represented until his demise.
The late Peter Pepera Wiafe died on May 21, 2016 at the 37 military hospital due to illness.
