Frenchman Patrice Carteron has been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Taawoun FC ahead of Matchday 4 of the 2020 AFC Champions League (ACL) against Iran’s Persepolis, Tasnim news agency reported.

Al-Taawoun lost its last match to Iran’s Persepolis 1-0 on Tuesday, but is still atop of Group C with six points from three matches.

Al-Taawoun will face Persepolis again on Friday.

Carteron, 50, was previously the head coach of Egyptian Zamalek SC and lead them to the 2020 Egyptian Super Cup and CAF Super Cup titles.
