The Sunyani Central District of the Church of Pentecost has launched its 75th anniversary celebration, with a call on the church to retell its history and achievements.
It also inaugurated the Anniversary’s Central Planning Committee to spearhead the one-week celebration on the theme “celebrating the faithfulness of God”.
Apostle James Gabriel Quardson, the Sunyani Area Head of the Church who made the call said it was imperative for the church to re-tell its history for the contemporary generation to understand it better and contribute to its growth and development.
Delivering a sermon at the launch of the anniversary in Sunyani, Apostle Quardson said the church had come far and re-telling the history would build and strengthen the faith of the younger generation in God.
He said besides the spiritual growth and development of members, the church was committed to contribute towards the holistic development of society.
Apostle Quardson described the church’s contributions to the growth and development of the education and health sectors as unparalleled, saying as a key development partner, it would continue to support the government to bring the development of the nation to the next level.
Pastor Stephen Dankyi Asante, the Sunyani Central District Pastor of the Church said several activities including prayer sessions, counselling, and clean-up exercise had been lined-up for the anniversary celebration and advised members to participate fully.
