Pentecostal Fellowship Ministry, Nasarawa State chapter on Wednesday, disbursed the sum of N500, 000 to victims of the recent communal clashes in the state.
Mr Emmanuel Ebolisa, the state chairman of the ministry made the donation in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
He said that the donation was part of the ministry?s commitment and determination to assist victims of the communal clashes to improve on their standard of living.
“The importance of peace and unity to the development of any society cannot be over-emphasised.?
He said that there was need for the people to embrace peace and forgive one other if there was any misunderstanding.
“The security challenges facing some part of Nasarawa state and the country at large have affected the socio-economic and infrastructure development of the country negatively.
“All religion whether Christianity and Islam preach peace, why must people wake up and take arms against themselves.? he queried.
He described the situation as unfortunate, uncalled for and barbaric.
“Let us remember that there is judgment after death,? Ebolisa said.
According to him, the funds will assist the victims of the communal clashes, adding that the crisis had destroyed their property.
Ebolisa called on Nigerians to pray fervently?and continue to work hard for the return of peace?to the country so as to achieve speedy development in the country.
He reminded the people that the God that created human beings did not a mistake but?created them to embrace each other, show love and tolerate one another.
He said that people should live as brothers and sisters in accordance with the teachings of the Bible?and?the Quran.
?Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, George Yakuton, thanked the Pentecostal Fellowship for the kind gesture.
He called on well-meaning Nigerians to assist the victims of communal crisis in the country to improve on their standard of living.
