The People’s National Party (PNP) has made history by officially naming Janet Asana Nabla its flagbearer for the December 7 elections, marking a significant step forward in Ghana’s political landscape.
This decision was made during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Sunday, September 1.
Dr. Edmund Ayesu has been confirmed as Nabla’s running mate, forming a united and committed leadership team. This announcement marks a significant milestone for the PNP as it prepares to present a leadership team committed to transformative change.
A statement issued by the PNP on Monday, September 2, highlighted that Janet Asana Nabla brings extensive experience in public service, health administration, and political leadership.
She has been recognized for her steadfast dedication to gender equality, economic sovereignty, and social justice.
Notably, Nabla was the first female General Secretary of a political party in Ghana while leading the People’s National Convention (PNC).
Her running mate, Dr. Edmund Ayesu, is a distinguished academic and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Social Science Research at Kumasi Technical University.
His expertise in applied econometric modelling, policy design, and civil society activism aligns perfectly with the PNP’s vision for a prosperous and equitable Ghana, instilling optimism for the future.
General Secretary Suleman Seidu released the PNP statement, emphasizing that Nabla and Ayesu’s combined expertise and vision are poised to redefine Ghana’s progress.
